Gossip Case Heads to Circuit Court in Reedsburg

At Reedsburg justice court A W Foster of Baraboo faces gossip charges with Rev Fr O Reilly as the principal witness. Five state witnesses testified. Foster had none. Circuit Court in Baraboo opens May 3 to hear the case, with District Attorney J H Hill for the state and J W Frenz for Foster. A new bond for former Reedsburg City Clerk Huebing was set and will be heard next term.

Lincoln Day Observance in Baraboo by Fellowship and Schools

The Fellowship club met in the Presbyterian parlors with Rev. Allison speaking on Lincoln and Emancipator ideals. Floyd H. Newell presided. Miss Schenck sang. Baraboo and public schools held patriotic programs led by Rev. Mayhew and Rev. Ray.

Old Letters Among Gifts to Sauk County Society

The Sauk County Historical Society received gifts from Baraboo residents including a portrait of early Baraboo figure R. M. Strong from Harry Sly. Mrs. N. F. Sherman donated a Lucy Underwood letter from the Baraboo Female Seminary era. H. E. Paddock of La Valle sent fourteen hop picking tickets with numbers and text.

War relics and letters donated to local historical society

A Baraboo collector list details items donated to the society including a basin of war letters from the 17th Wisconsin Vol Inf and portraits of Capt. McCawley Lieut Apker and Col Malloy. Other gifts include a powder flask from Switzerland a Pewter pitcher and a gun hammer. Rev E P Hall spoke at the school building on the occasion.
