Young Man Killed by Falling Limb Near North Freedom
Arthur Zantow aged 22 son of Mr and Mrs Louis Zantow was fatally struck by a falling tree limb while felling railroad ties at a home five miles south of North Freedom. He died about fifteen minutes after the accident. His father works as an engineer for the Chicago and Northwestern. The family formerly lived in Baraboo.

The Wisconsin infantry and trains of the 6th division will join Camp Douglas in two sessions July 18 30 and August 1 13 next summer. About 7000 8000 troops from Camp Grant will be stationed there each period as part of the 6th corps area with Illinois and Michigan.

Dr A A Pleyte and nurse Miss Dorothy Durbin of Milwaukee complete a free clinic in Baraboo with more than a hundred people examined for lung nose and throat diseases. Mothers brought children and many will receive medical treatment funded by the Anti Tuberculosis Association from Christmas stamps sales. Reedsburg saw over one hundred examined as the Baraboo effort was aided by local volunteers listed.

Death of South Madison Man Still Mystery
The case of Richard S. Lawrence of South Madison, found dead March 21, 1918, remains unresolved amid revived speculation. Officials recall previous inquiries by district attorney Roman Heilman and detective W J Cunningham, which failed to prove foul play or a fortune. Solons Hold Meeting on City Council Actions
The city council met Thursday in City Hall with roll call by the mayor and aldermen. They refused to extend tax time, adopted a report seeking an electric utility rate increase to Dane County court, and discussed police equipment purchases. Spring Green Man Scalded Feet in Spill Incident
George Hutter an 83 year old Spring Green resident was badly scalded after spilling a kettle of hot water on his feet. One foot suffered severe burns with skin removal when his stocking was pulled off. He is confined to bed and lives with his daughter in law Mrs G F Hutter.

Theatre Thief Escapes After Police Chase
A chase for Leo Kellner charged with stealing a strong box from the Grand theatre in Madison containing between 300 and 400 dollars ended when police believed he fled by train. Kellner, 17, son of John Kellner of Toledo, had been in Madison three weeks working at Burgess Battery and then at the Grand. Police were alerted Saturday morning when manager F J McWilliams reported the robbery and the suspect’s sudden disappearance.

Big Five Win Again at Kendall in Close Battle
