At La Crosse Illinois Milwaukee native M L Fee former president of the Valencia Evaporated Milk Co was sentenced to three years in federal prison. F L Eason of Detroit vice president and C F Christiansen of Chicago secretary received six months in Milwaukee's house of correction. They were found guilty of defrauding stockholders via the mails. A South Dakota hunter killed a deer near Ingram and hung it with a fifty dollar tag. When he returned for the animal the thief had taken the deer and removed the license tag, leaving the hunter furious.

Deer Hunter Wanntan Bears Hoodoo After Close Encounter
Fred Waffenschmidt Guy Waffen schmidt and Dewey Albertus of Prairie du Sac returned from Draper Sawyer county where they hunted deer. Albertus faced a 200 pound bear rushing him and shot it killing the animal. The bear’s hide will be turned into a rug and the trio did not bag a deer blaming the bear for the miss.

A large turnout attended Baraboo cemetery association’s annual meeting at city hall.
