Railroad guard at Merrimack in trouble
Robert McNamee 27 of Madison was arrested Friday night at Merrimack on charges involving a 17 year old girl and brought to Capitol City. He pleaded not guilty at Junior Superior court arraignment with bond set at 500 dollars pending a hearing. Charges against the girl were transferred to juvenile court by Judge O. A. Stolen. McNamee has been working as a railroad guard at Merrimack.

Throngs attended the Sauk County fair despite heat as A T Wooster led racing events with novel matches. Women riders won a Roman standing race, a mule derby entertained Baraboo businessmen, and Baraboo beat Portage 5 to 4 in a late baseball finish. Stock judging by L P Martiny and Prof Fargo drew a large livestock display. Gate receipts topped last year with evening fireworks closing the day.
