Friday rally witnessed the formation of the Young People's Music and Dramatic Club of Baraboo led by Mrs. Alf T Ringling. About twenty young men and Cadets attended and officers were elected, aiming to form a large chorus and provide dramatism training with weekly meetings.

Mrs. Peter Long died in Portage after pneumonia at age 60. She moved to Caledonia in 1854 and lived in Portage for 12 years. Survived by two sons, two daughters, seven sisters including Mrs. W. A. Pruyn of Greenfield, with others in Baraboo. William Jenewein and family moved to a farm near the fair grounds in Rochester, Minnesota.
