Mrs Lachlan McIntosh Obituary Longtime Wisconsin Resident
Mrs Lachlan McIntosh died at her Reedsburg home early yesterday. She married in 1851 at Poughkeepsie New York and moved to Wisconsin settling in Winfield township. The obituary notes she and her husband endured 56 years together.

Funeral held at the Baptist church in Reedsburg this afternoon.

Baraboo Water Power Sold in Foreclosure Sale
The middle water power of Baraboo including the dam under the high bridge and adjacent facilities was sold at foreclosure. Only one bid of 5000 dollars was placed by Grotophorst Evans and Thomas for the First National Bank of Baraboo. The sale ends years of contested ownership and dates back to 1844 when George W Brown first developed the site.

Local man attempts suicide near Ableman
Ernest Mahler of about one mile northwest of Ableman cut his throat Tuesday afternoon in an isolated house. He was found by William Paff who summoned a physician. Mahler’s throat was severely gashed but he may live. Family trouble is cited as the motive.

Baraboo Pioneers Unearth Indian Cache and Mound Remnants
Baraboo residents describe nearby Indian sites along the river and the Upper Oxbow, with flint chip piles, fire places, and stone tools found on land once unsettled until 1880. A 21-piece flint cache was unearthed on the George Tinkham farm and later gifted to Sauk County Historical Society. Baraboo Creamery Sold to W. H. Carlisch
Pelton and Battles closed a sale of the Baraboo creamery property at Barker and Seventh streets for 2850 dollars to W. H. Carlisch. The deal includes land, buildings, five sets of scales, engine, belting, churn, butter worker and other equipment. Carlisch will open the business around April 1 and has prior experience with the Baraboo and Barker creameries.
