Quarterback Club Plans November Dance at Mansfield Park

The Bandera Quarterback Club will host its annual dance November 17 at the Recreation Center Mansfield Park from 9 to 12. Los Gringos will provide music. Admission is $1.50. Hunters and the public are invited to support the Bulldogs and enjoy the evening.

Bandera County Voters Decide On Nine Constitutional Amendments

Bandera County citizens voted Tuesday on nine constitutional amendments. Key results include No 2 Homestead Protection 669 for 160 against, No 3 300000 Ad Valorem Tax Exemption 601 for 215 against, No 5 Bonds for Sea Walls 486 for 294 against, and No 9 Water Supply Tax Exemption 368 for 428 against.

Bandera County Approves Road Bond Issue

Bandera County voters approved a road improvement bond 591 to 260. Funds will buy right of way and improve Highway 16 the Ridge Route Road and Highway 1336 in the northwestern county and provide needed road and bridge repairs elsewhere in Bandera County.

Mrs John Humphries Dies In Kerrville Hospital

Mrs Evelyn Humphries 64, wife of John Humphries Bandera resident since 1941, died Tuesday November 6 1973 in a Kerrville hospital. Born November 23 1908 in Thurber Texas she was a St Stanislaus Church member. Survivors include husband son Bill Humphries sister and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Plummer Chapels Kerrville and interment followed at Morgan Cemetery near Meridian Texas.

Mr and Mrs Lenzie Maass from a Pipe Creek area ranch displayed the large coyote they killed this week. The display followed a week of hunting near their home.

Utopia Arts Fall Fair Planned at Community Square

Utopia Arts and Crafts Guild announces its annual Fall Fair on November 17 and 18 at the Community Square. Hours run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday with paintings needlework pottery and leathercraft on display and for sale. A museum antiques gun show at Utopia Platings and Gun Works and a Lost Maple Shop pottery demonstration are scheduled, plus wildlife paintings by Sonny Timme of Victoria and a Saturday dinner served by high school seniors.
