Ferncliff Inc truck carrying 309 cases of eggs to San Antonio overturned near Ranger Crossing early Wednesday. Driver Agapito Benavides received treatment for lacerations and shock, sent home for the day and back on the job Thursday. Owner W A Spencer Jr. confirms the shipment.

Wayne Goff son of Mr and Mrs H L Goff of Rt 2 Bandera was promoted to Captain on January 24 1970 while at Fort Sill Oklahoma He and family returned to Fort Campbell Kentucky on February 11 and he received orders for a year long Viet Nam tour beginning February 18 He is a 1968 St Marys University ROTC graduate and serves with the 101st Heavy Artillery Unit in Viet Nam His wife Sue and two children remain at Fort Campbell awaiting his return

Janna Lindig placed a 89 pound fine wool lamb in the sale at the San Antonio Stock Show earning 45 cents per pound. Guy Smith sold a 105 pound 24th prize fine wool cross lamb to H E B for $1.05 per pound. Alfred Bausch’s 97 pound 28th prize fine wool lamb bought by Raymond Hicks of Bandera at 45 cents. Bonnie Pember’s 93 pound 22nd prize fine wool crossbred lamb sold to Piggly Wiggly for 55 cents per pound.
