A Wills Creek meeting at the school house on October 25 organized a fund for Red Cross relief. Committees will buy an organ for the school and donate the rest to Red Cross, with Liberty Bonds purchased first to be used as designated. Volunteers prepared Red Cross supplies, pillow slips, bed socks, bandages, and other items for hospital trains.
Attorney H. E. Herrick of Farr & Herrick at Miles travels to Ekalaka for a law matter. He is accompanied by P. E. Hubbard. The item mentions Jonathan apples and a price of 175 dollars per box.
Five train loads of troops passed through Baker Saturday night and Sunday morning en route east. The 161st United States Infantry, formerly the Second Washington, led the convoy. Tuesday morning three train loads of Marines followed through.
