Woman's Club Holds Interesting Meeting Tuesday Evening

The Baker Woman's Club met Tuesday afternoon at the Masonic temple. Mrs Erther presented opinions of noted women on the question Shall She be bound by party ties. Mrs Price discussed National Government Powers and the President Congress and Judiciary. Mrs Hartle entertained with vocal solos accompanied by Miss Jeanette Price. A social hour followed with refreshments.

George R. Chapin Dies in Minnesota and Rests in Bonnievale

George R. Chapin died Wednesday afternoon at Colonial hospital Rochester Minnesota after arriving for medical care Tuesday. Born 1882 in Owanah Minnesota he moved to Baker then Fallon County in 1908 becoming a noted farmer and neighbor. His funeral was Monday at 2 PM at Congregational church with interment in Bonnievale cemetery. survivors include his widow four children two brothers and two sisters.

States Meeting of Teachers to be Held at Billings

The Eastern Montana Education association will hold meetings at Billings October 22 25 with Governor Dixon and other officials among speakers. A large attendance is expected and efforts aim for full participation by trustees and teachers. Milwaukee collie Milwaukee dies after hit by Chevrolet in Sunday accident

N P Nelson’s collie Milwaukee, once a Baker stray, died Sunday evening after a Chevrolet coupe driven by Mack Niccum ran the dog down on Main Street. The dog, rescued from the city pound seven years ago, had lived with the Nelson family and was beloved by local children. Milwaukee spent much time at the post office lobby and was known for his friendly disposition.
