New Carbon Plant to Be Built Near Baker Gas Well
The Treasure State Gas and Oil company sells gas production to a New York firm which will install a carbon plant near the Cabin creek well, 20 miles north of Baker. The contract calls for 3 million cubic feet daily by May 1, 1918 and 6 million by Oct 1, 1918 with buildings to begin at once and 24 carloads of steel. About 25 to 30 men will be employed. The well has 11 million cubic feet capacity and 400 pounds rock pressure. Treasure State plans two or three additional wells in the spring to meet demand. Oakley Curry of the New York company negotiated the purchase for his firm and J. W. Warren represented Treasure State.
