State Board of Health checks Fallon county birth death records

L L Benepe of the Bureau of Vital Statistics visited Helena on May 13 to review Fallon county records. In 1924 Fallon reported 92 births and 23 deaths, a birth rate of 20.3 and a death rate of 5.1 per 1000. The 1924 birth rate exceeded the state average while deaths were below it. In early 1925 the bureau logged 394 birth and 85 death inquiries for proofs of citizenship voting age school age and other rights. A birth certificate may prove many civic and legal statuses. a death certificate may support insurance and inheritance claims. Montana requires reporting every birth to the local registrar within ten days.

Mrs. L Price of Baker died Friday at 12 30 PM after a sudden heart attack. Eva A Owen born in Cabine Wisconsin in 1877 married Lewellyn Price in 1893 and moved to Baker in 1910 where he ran a hardware business.
