Big Fire Destroys 101 Ranch Hay and Grain
A major blaze on E. A Mul key’s 101 Ranch, 20 miles southeast of Baker, destroyed hay 120 tons grain several barns and tools valued at over 5000 dollars. The fire, started by a five year old visitor, spared the house and one east shed. Winter cattle feed was lost. three horse harness sets survived. The boy had tried to ignite the house with shingles earlier.

Jimmie Munro Passes After Long Illness
James Munro longtime Carter county board chairman and Eastern Montana rancher died at Miles City hospital after a 10 day struggle following a horse accident. Born June 21 1881 in the Falkland Islands he came to Custer County as a boy and built a ranch 15 miles northeast of Ekalaka. Survived by wife Madge Hamilton, his father Roderick Munro and siblings, the funeral was held at Miles City Presbyterian church with Odd Fellows oversight and local offices closed during services.

Riot by Negro Soldiers in Texas Raises Death Toll
Houston August 24. More than a hundred soldiers from the 24th infantry sparked a riot last night resulting in sixteen dead and over twenty wounded. Two civilians were killed with twelve bullets after being dragged from an automobile. Two police officers also died and three civilians were wounded in the outbreak.
