In San Bernardino California on September 16 authorities report General Bruce an Indian outlaw who months ago murdered Victoria Marx by choking her and burying her alive was captured in Southern Nevada. He was dragged tied to a horse horn across the Rock Stream desert and his body was burned on a large wood pile after a savage beating.
In Washington on September 16 Miss Nellie Shipman aged 29 a government printing office employee fired at her father Captain Horatio M Shipman 72 of Monroe Center Ohio injuring him in their Washington city apartment The causes remain unclear Captain Shipman was visiting his daughter at the time
Boston dispatched report states Lieutenant John R. Morris United States Navy was found dead in his storeroom on the USS Olympia by a fellow officer. He shot himself with a revolver. no motive is known. Olympia anchored off the Boston navy yard. Morris had served as the ship’s engineering officer since January 25.
Jamestown North Dakota Sept 16 Kasimir Sander arrested in Harvey on charges of attempting to murder Mr and Mrs Vinzens Wiest. Sander allegedly quarreled with the Wiests insulted Mrs Wiest then trailed them to their home firing three shots and hitting one of their horses.
