Austin man dies in truck mishap near Pratt
Peter Merten 22 of Austin dies from head injuries after a one vehicle crash two miles east of Pratt. He was driving his father's loaded truck to Owatonna Canning Co when he lost control at 3 54 p m and rolled into a ditch. The truck, a total loss, threw him from the wreck as it skidded about 20 feet. He is survived by wife Mary Kay and two year old Michael James along with his parents and several siblings. Funeral services are set for St Edward's in Austin with the wake at Mayer Funeral Home.
