Inquest Planned in Death of Steven Zerby 14
A formal inquest will be held into the death of Steven Zerby age 14. His body was found clothed in the Cedar River near the 4th Ave NE bridge Sunday afternoon around 5 30 PM. An autopsy will determine the cause of death. He is the son of Louis and (name redacted) Zerby of 1001 1st Dr NW. He would have entered ninth grade at Austin High School this year. He is survived by his parents three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services are set for 4 PM Wednesday at Crane Community Chapel with Rev. Joe Matt officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call Worlein Funeral Home Tuesday evening until noon Wednesday and at the church afternoon prior to the service.

ST PAUL AP The Walter Butler home is being cleaned after vandals dumped thousands of gallons of water through the front hallway living and dining rooms and basement. The vandals cut the lawn sprinkler hose and inserted it in the mail slot causing extensive damage to floors rugs and electrical system. Rosalie Butler, wife of Walter Butler, was a former mayoral candidate.

Priest homecoming ruined by ruffians
ST. PAUL AP Homecoming for a New Ulm priest was spoiled when he was attacked and robbed while taking a walk. The Rev. Fr. Ernest H. Muellerleile, 50, was treated for head cuts and a bruise after being jumped from behind and knocked to the ground. His wallet containing about $150 in cash and $50 in checks was stolen. Father Muellerleile was vacationing here for his silver anniversary as a priest.

Violence erupts across four states with racial clashes
Overnight unrest left one dead and many injured as fires burned and looting occurred in Hartford, Parkesburg, Dayton, Fort Lauderdale and nearby Coatesville. Seven Die During North Dakota Labor Day Toll
