Six Die In Wisconsin Duplex Fire
A two story duplex in Rice Lake Wisconsin burned with undetermined cause near a first floor sofa. Six people died including Mrs Ellen Fisher 29 and her four children Nicole 4 Amy 2 Tamra 5 and Doreen 6 months along with cousin Jean Pitlik about 5. Mr Fisher Timothy 29 was rescued and hospitalized in serious condition. Fire officials said smoke inhalation caused the deaths and the blaze was first noticed around 2 20 a m by upstairs tenants the Gruenhagens who escaped and alerted authorities. The incident was described as Rice Lake's most tragic fire.
