Barn Destroyed on George Smeby Farm in Moscow Township
A 30 by 50 foot barn burned at 3 p m Sunday on George Smeby’s farm in Moscow township. Firefighters from Austin and Hollandale fought the blaze. Smeby believes hay stored in the barn started the fire by spontaneous combustion about three weeks ago. The barn and silo top were destroyed, hay mow filled with hay and straw, and the milking machine with utensils were lost. Insurance may cover the losses.

Ground is broken on the Labor temple at 305 S Railroad for United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 2061.
