Collision Kills Samuel Spencer in Lynchburg Area Train Wreck

Samuel Spencer president of the Southern Railway died when the Jacksonville express rear ended the Washington and Southwestern vestibule limited ten miles south of Lynchburg Virginia. Also killed were Philip Schuyler and six others with numerous injuries. The crash caused extensive fire and wreckage as rescuers and doctors rushed to the scene amid reports of looting and an inquest to be determined.
