Freight wreck in Stanley kills man. injures two

In Stanley Wisconsin a Wisconsin Central freight wreck in the yards at dusk killed Charles Quinn Hes and badly hurt Morris Schaecter and James Hubbard. The two injured were taken to Chippewa Falls hospital aboard the evening passenger train. A caboose derailed when the freight train struck crashing into it.

Rhode Island Woman Ends Life With Family by Gas

Providence reports Mrs. Charles G. Checkley and her two children, a 2 1/2 year old daughter and a 5 month old son, found dead in their home. The mother turned on the gas and, with the children in her arms, lay down to die, leaving a note expressing unhappiness.

Japanese Bridge Planned Over Yalu to Link Mukden and Fusan

The Tokio Times correspondent reports Japan will build a Yalu River bridge at Yongampo. The 3239 foot span will cost about 1 million dollars and align with the Wiju Mukden railroad to connect Mukden with Fusan, enabling direct communication.

Mountain Green mine buildings destroyed by snowslide

Telluride Colorado reports a snowslide four miles from Animal Forks wrecking the bunk house blacksmith shop boarding house boiler engine and compress houses and all mine machinery. Damage is estimated at $50 000.

Bomb factory found after explosion near governor’s palace

Warsaw police searched a Piwna Street house near the governor's palace where a bomb exploded last Saturday and found a bomb making plant. Two human fingers were discovered, indicating the Saturday blast was accidental.

Mustered Out of the Army at Fort Reno

Non commissioned officers and privates of Companies 8 C and D of the Twenty fifth United States infantry have been mustered out. At Fort Reno the officers showed more emotion than the men. Major Penrose praised the men for deportment and conduct. Six sergeants will travel to Washington to witness their appeal to the president.

Dowie Zion City finances face creditor control

Chicago reports that John Alexander Dowie Wilhu Glen Voliva and other Zion City readers prepare to assign church industrial interests to creditors as Glencaforth Zion's factories would be run by a seven member board led by Receiver John C. Hately with Zion City's debt around $6 million denied by Secretary Shaw. In Pittsburgh Secretary Shaw denies graft charges over a proposed postoffice site and offers a $1000 reward for the charger’s name after a heated inspection and public dispute. A coroner's jury in New York finds Mrs Anisin Louisa de Massey responsible for the death of Gustav Simon a Broadway shirt waist maker, while eighty eight year old Mrs Hayden in Columbus Ohio dies a descendant of Miles Standish.

In Wilburton Indian Territory a coal mine blast at Degnan and McConnell mine killed or trapped miners after a fire raged for days. Six men escaped the shaft unharmed as investigators sought to determine if any others were lost.

Farmer Jehu Potlhan Found Unconscious in Woods

In Muscoda Wisconsin on November 27 Jehu Potlhan a local farmer was found in the woods near his home in Castle Rock by school children unconscious with a severely injured face and eyes protruding. The motive remains a mystery with no robbery evidence.
