Hormel & Co distributed 1 842 966 to employees as annual division of earnings. Of the total, 698 346 was paid as joint earnings by check and 1 144 620 was deposited to employee accounts in the profit sharing trust.

Travis a Grand Meadow broker seeking a $1 000 commission over a Racine area 160 acre farm sale to Bert Olson. A Navy plane evacuated Reed Olson six months old from Washington to Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota for heart treatment after Children’s Hospital could not arrange suitable connections. The boy’s parents Mr and Mrs Gordon Olson of Oxon Hill Maryland accompanied him and were taught oxygen administration before departure from Anacostia Naval Air Station.

Contractors have 18 months from start to finish with construction likely beginning early spring and a committee meeting set for Monday to award bids.
Three young children waited hours for mommy to wake, while upstairs their parents lay dead from shotgun blasts. Police say Peter T Lang, 32, shot his wife Katherine, 29, then killed himself after hearing shots around 11 p.m. Monday.

Concord Grange hosted the women who made the first prize quilt and their husbands Monday evening. The group received $50 for first place and the quilt will be presented to Minnesota's first lady Mrs. C Elmer Anderson. Prizes were won by Mrs Adolf Klatt Mrs Art Loucks Mrs Maynard Thyer Everett Staley and Glenn Gordon. The next meeting is December 3 for inspection.
The Midwest faces a major winter storm as Austin and surrounding areas lose bus service and schools close. Snow reaches eight inches with 25 mph winds, isolating towns, delaying trains and planes, and straining mail and telephone services.
The Associated Press reports a wide Midwest blizzard causing highways to shut down and schools to close. Six deaths are linked to the storm with up to 12 inches of snow in parts, while Kansas and Nebraska face the heaviest impact and wind gusts up to 50 mph.
