Columbus November 16 Six ice companies and a firm have been indicted for a third time on charges of price fixing. The first two indictments were dismissed by the court as defective. The case centers on an alleged combination to control ice prices in the area.
The United States government files a petition in equity in St. Louis seeking to declare the Standard Oil company and its 70 subsidiaries unlawful under the Sherman Act. The suit targets John D. Rockefeller and William Rockefeller and asks a future restraint on trade, with a one month appearance period and sixty days to answer. The action follows Roosevelt's 1905 inquiry and May report.
