Woman Leads NLF Delegation to Paris Talks

Paris AP report says Viet Cong leader Mrs Nguyen Thi Binh arrives to join peace talks. She vows South Vietnam war will continue while the United States props up Saigon and rejects independence, stating the people demand peace with liberty and victory. Binh chairs the Women's Liberation Association and leads a six member delegation greeted by Vietnamese supporters and Soviet Ambassador Valerian Zorin.

Ground fighting eases in Vietnam as Vietcong losses rise

Ground clashes in Vietnam slowed to the lowest level since last summer. Allied reports show at least 164 Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers killed in air, artillery and infantry actions. U S and allied forces logged light contacts with enemy units, with no major ground actions reported. The DMZ battles remained quiet for a third day after Johnson halted bombing North Vietnam. South Vietnamese actions included light shelling near Mekong Delta towns with casualties and property losses. Hijacked National Air Lines Jet Lands in Cuba

Duluth Boy 13 Die In Island Lake House Fire

A 13 year old rural Duluth boy, Dennis Anderson, died early today when a fire struck his home on Island Lake about 30 miles north of Duluth. His parents and a brother were hospitalized with burns. The family operates Hideaway Tavern. the fire started in the living quarters and spread to the tavern kitchen. The cause was under investigation.
