A collision between a gravel truck and a school excursion train near Caplinville Crossing north of here injured 104 people. The 907 pupils and chaperones were en route to a Milwaukee baseball game. 37 remained overnight. The truck driver Gordon Hinckley, 35, was hospitalized with multiple injuries.
