Minneapolis and Duluth markets report wheat prices for May and July contracts with No 1 hard and Northern grades trading around $1.00 per bushel. On track values show No 1 Northern at about 1.00 to 1.01 percent, with lower grades near 96 to 99 cents. Flax prices on track and to arrive list May around 2.58 to 3.59 dollars per bushel depending on contract.

Defense line in Deitz murder trial questioned

In Hayward Wisconsin on May 4 the trial heard that the shot killing Oscar Harp likely did not come from a deputy's gun. Witnesses uniformly said roof shots were highly unlikely. The state presented statements from deputies involved in the capture and linked three shots to the barn haymow as John Deitz fled with a rifle.
