William Scheidknecht a 46 year old Swiss. he said anarchists forced him to assassinate Secretary Ballinger. He was arrested and committed to the state hospital for the insane. He claimed to have come from Patterson New Jersey where he says he had sworn to kill Mr Ballinger.
