Tornadoes and tornadic winds hit central and southern Minnesota in a Saturday outbreak. Two people died Roger Linderoth age 16 in St. Cloud and Lester Meyer age 34 near Gibbon. Damage ran to several hundred thousand dollars with farms barns and buildings destroyed.

State Salary Bill Returned to Committee by Senate

Flashers Set for Milwaukee Road Crossing by May 1
Milwaukee Road will install flashing signals at the Highway 218 crossing two and a half miles north of Austin. Six fatalities occurred at the site in the past four months. A railroad official said the company sent a signed agreement to the State Highway Department and work will begin once the department returns it. Completion is expected by late April, pending workmen and materials.
