The Austin Park and Recreation Board, in a four member vote, approved that volunteer help will continue under supervision for park tasks while not replacing salaried staff. Fred Miles of Local 867 United Auto Workers, emailing from a Rochester hospital bed, opposed pay for all park labor and warned of a picket if volunteers assist in moving bleachers for a tournament.
