In Pueblo Colorado on June 27 George Elwin a Cooks and Waiters union member was shot dead while picketing Riverside restaurant owned by Mrs Kate Dodson and her sons Jacob and Thomas Dodson. Police Officer Joseph H Sheppard was seriously wounded and the three Dodsons were arrested. Elwin was attempting to turn patrons away when the shooting occurred.
