Milwaukee Tragedy Ends as Lover Murders Three

Milwaukee noir reports Andrew Feine 25 shoots his sweetheart Elsie Volkmann 19 and her father Frank Volkmann 45 before killing himself. Feine, enraged by a quarrel and Volkmann siding with his daughter, returned to the Volkmann home with an 8 caliber revolver, killing the father behind the saloon bar, then the girl upstairs, and finally himself at the emergency hospital.

Missing girl found dead on river near Fargo

Grace Burns, a 15 year old from Fargo, disappeared after being sent to Moorhead Market. Her body was recovered in the river below the city with marks of choking and beating. Authorities believe she was assaulted and killed before being thrown into the water. elopement was ruled out by her mother.

Two Men Fatally Struck by Train Near New Prague

Jordan Minnesota June 26 Conrad Cart German farmer and James Stresnak Pohemien were killed instantly about one mile north of New Prague when struck by a St. Louis passenger train. Both bodies mangled. one found with feet severed, the other crushed at the head. Cart had just married three weeks earlier and was riding home with a companion when the accident occurred.

Fourteen Injured In Wisconsin Central Train Collision

A head on collision between a passenger train and a freight train on the Wisconsin Central railroad at Lomiia Wisconsin left fourteen people injured, none seriously. Officials attributed the crash to a misunderstanding of orders. Ray Hammond and another express messenger were hospitalized at Fond du Lac. others received minor treatment.

Bicycle rider survives two streetcar collision in Minneapolis

Vancouver June 26 reports the tug Constance and its New Westminster crew of seven vanished at Rivers Inlet, 300 miles up the coast. Captain Neilsen and the six deckhands are presumed lost.

Lightning kills Nels Anderson near Bruce Wisconsin

Bruce Wisconsin June 26 Nels Anderson four miles northwest of town was struck by lightning and died instantly while resting on a lounge by an open window during a storm. His brother in the same room found him dead. the house sustained only minor damage. Pittsburg June 26 a strike by blast furnacemen, affecting 10 000 to 15 000 workers, is expected to be called Monday July 1 over an eight hour day dispute.

Gasoline tank on a launch at Couderay lake near Chippewa Falls Wisconsin exploded killing two men. Samuel Hill drowned after the blast while his companion escaped by swimming to shore. John Hildure of Chippewa Falls also drowned after leaping into the water from a nearby rowboat.
