Cloud-seeding not flood cause in South Dakota
Federal officials said there was no connection between experimental cloud-seeding near Rapid City and the unprecedented flood that killed more than 209 people. Dr. A M Kahn of Denver reported seeds 20 miles north and south produced only light rain over dry flats, not near the Black Hills, on June 9.

Anderson protests $24 million highway funds cutback
Gov. Wendell Anderson telegrammed Transportation Secretary John Volpe denouncing a $24 million reduction in Minnesota's fiscal 1973 federal highway apportionment. He warned previous withholdings hinder rural road improvements and called the latest release of only $79 million a crippling blow to the highway program.
