Dr and Mrs Avery and Dr and Mrs A Pooler hosted a social gathering at the Avery residence on Milo street Wednesday night. About fifty guests, mainly longtime friends, enjoyed an informal event with vocal and piano performances by Mrs Ray Pooler and the Mieses Wheelers. Refreshments included lemonade cake and candy wafers.
Wednesday evening the KK K's hosted Mise Grace Smith at Mite Anna McBride's home. At 9 PM refreshments were served and guests gifted a marriage notation. A prank spool with six cords led to attached granite items, provoking merriment before guests departed. A rumor hints at a future event.
A heavy electrical storm moved through Stewartville on Monday causing lightning to strike E. S. Baker’s residence, crashing the chimney and stove pipe and lightly shocking the occupants. A second bolt knocked down Dr. F. W. Burn as he returned from the country. both were stunned but recovered quickly.
