Cedar Falls Officer Shot During $12 Gas Station Robbery
A 17 year old South Dakota youth robbed a Cedar Falls gas station attendant of about $12 then fled in a blue 1962 car. Patrolman Vernon Kolpeck, 32, pursuing the suspect three blocks away, was shot in the face and hospitalized. Police, aided by Waterloo officers, captured Albert Leroy Fullbright on robbery with aggravation, assault with intent to murder, and auto theft charges.
