Youth held as hostage by man with shotgun in Edina
In Edina Minnesota a 20 year old burst into a residence and held two children ages 3 and 7 for about 15 minutes. A police officer fired at the suspect’s shotgun twice rendering it inoperable and pellets struck the man in the chest. He was hospitalized in satisfactory condition. No charges filed yet. The incident followed a report of a man with a shotgun walking along railroad tracks. The parents were ordered out and the children released. The suspect was talked into leaving the house but refused to drop the shotgun. The incident ended without further harm to the children and with the suspect wounded by pellets. Arsenic note appears in the text but unrelated to the event.
