Minister Transferred After Invitation To Integrate Church
In Grosse Pointe Michigan the Rev James Nixon pastor for six years is to be transferred to State Street Methodist Church in Saginaw. Church sources say the move, announced at the June 15-18 Adrian conference, reflects his strong leadership and is not race related. The change raises charges of aiding bigots by removal and would place Nixon in a larger post with higher pay. Bishop Dwight Loder ordered the transfer but could not be reached for comment.
