Thiss Charges Conspiracy of DFL in Sales Tax Deal
AP reports George Thiss Republican state chairman accusing George Farr DFL state chairman and DL members of the 1967 Minnesota Legislature of conspiring to override Gov. Harold LeVander's veto on the 3 percent selective sales tax bill. He claims DFL votes would have been needed in both houses to overturn the veto. Farr unavailable for comment. Ben Pomeroy GOP district chairman counters that policy dispute, not conspiracy, led to the veto override.
