Pacelli High School will hold graduation exercises at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Austin High School auditorium. Richard Hanson, one of five 1969 National Teachers of the Year, will be commencement speaker. Reverend Richard Engels will confer degrees on 141 seniors, with various campus religious and musical observances noted.

Thirty six nurses will graduate Friday from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis Park Minnesota. Rest area planned between Austin and Albert Lea
State Highway Dept landscape engineer Dennis Adams says two rest areas may be built in Freeborn or Mower County with sites sought between Austin and Albert Lea. Officials will search for protected varied terrain along IL 90 with one site eastbound and one westbound. The facilities would be the only rest stops on the expressway between Stewartville and Blue Earth, about two years from concrete proposals.

New manager named for Lyle Municipal Liquor Store
Ronald Attlesly of Minneapolis was hired by Lyle village council to run the Lyle Municipal Liquor Store in Lyle Minnesota. Attlesly starts June 1 and will replace Glenn Wilson who took a similar post in Maple Plain Minnesota. Attlesly, his wife, and daughter plan to move to Lyle soon.

The United States Army announces a special bonus plan for young men enlisting in infantry, armor and artillery careers. It provides 1500 dollars for a year enlistment, payable after basic and advanced training about four months after joining. Eligible prior service members with under three years active service may qualify. travel options include guaranteed assignments in Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, the Far East, Panama, and Units of Choice across the United States. Basic benefits include 288 dollars monthly pay with increases after training, plus free meals, housing, clothing, medical and dental care, and 30 paid vacation days annually.
