Freeborn Advances to District 2 Final in Narrow Win
Freeborn Yeomen edged Rose Creek 5-4 in the District 2 semifinal at Marcusen Park to advance to Friday's final against Austin. Senior righthander Rick Schammel left Freeborn with five hits allowed, while relief pitcher Mark Johnson improved to 3-0 in the tournament. Johnson will face Austin, with the Region One Tourney set for Red Wing next week.
