Local clubs and church circles schedule gatherings throughout the day. Groups include NAOMI CIRCLE and RUTH CIRCLE at residential addresses, FIRST BAPTIST Church Group at the church, and MARY MARTHA and other Holy Cross circles meeting in the evening.
Mr and Mrs Elmer Clausen of Stacyville celebrate 25 years of marriage with an open house Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the REA Building in St Ansgar. Hosts are their children Eugene Heskett Norman Kittleson Ann Ronald and Rodney Clausen.
A Kas son event honors Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lange Sargeant on their 43rd anniversary. Children host a midday picnic dinner at Kas son with an anniversary cake baked by Mrs. John Kloss ner. Out of town guests include Alfred Karges Dodge Center and several Augustin and Karges relatives.
Relatives and friends held a Sunday picnic at Jesse Staeßler home in Tappin in honor of Jean and Howard Staebler of Chicago. Many readers were listed with residences from Rochester to Omaha and San Diego as notes covered visits, hospital stays, and moves.

Thirty one guests gathered in the Sterling State Bank community room for a Royal Neighbors potluck supper. Attendees came from London Albert Lea Myrtle Oakland and Spring Valley. After supper bingo and prize winnings followed, with six door prizes awarded and Mrs Herman Helland welcoming guests while Mrs Harry Nielsen served as general chairman.
Mr and Mrs Henry Klubertanz from Spring Valley will host an open house on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at their home to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.
Miss Ann Christine Hansen and Gary Myers were married at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Riceville. The bride is the daughter of Waldemar and Mrs Hansen of Riceville. The groom is the son of Maurice and Mrs Myers of Waterloo, formerly Riceville. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Richard Maiden with soloist William B. Diederich accompanied by Mrs Joseph McGovern.
Queen of Angels PTA closed a year with a successful physical fitness program at the final meeting. Msgr. D A Cunningham thanked parents, teachers, sisters, and helpers for their work. Prizes were awarded to Floyd Barton Rufus Osmonson Mrs Donald Turck Wayne Albright Janet Nelson Leo Kulas W A Hans O H Brown. A wedding in the family plus a reception for 80 followed and Miss Sherri Myers managed the service.
