Woman Tried to Poison Her Six Children and Herself

Mrs James Burrows of Hankinson North Dakota attempted to kill her five children and herself by giving rhubarb sauce with laudanum. Kenneth Burrows aged four died after a second dose. The eldest boy summoned help but died. Coroner’s inquest found death due to laudanum administered by the mother and she faces sanity examination.

In Winchester Kentucky on June 1 Judge James Hargis of Breathitt county Senator A H Hargis and B F French were arrested on a charge of conspiracy in the murder of James B Marcum. Sheriff Ed Callahan of Breathitt and Sheriff McCord served the warrant issued by Police Judge Cardwell of Jackson.

Postmaster and associate robbed near Hemidji Minnesota

In Hemidji on June 1 Postmaster Herzberg and R S Walker of Guthrie thirteen miles south were held up by two masked men armed with revolvers and robbed of 60 dollars in cash watches and other valuables. The sheriff forms a posse to pursue the bandits.
