Four more sought in Chowchilla school kidnapping case

Investigators say up to four additional suspects may be involved in the Chowchilla bus kidnapping of 26 children and a driver. One man jailed, two sought, with two more potential names in a nationwide manhunt. FBI believes two individuals are armed and dangerous. Justice officials say more suspects possible. accelerants include ransom and robbery charges.

Intruder Killed After Fence Jump At White House Incident

A Washington cab driver, Chester M. Plummer, 30, scaled the White House fence and threatened a guard with a three foot pipe before being shot dead by an Executive Protective Service officer. Police cited unknown motive and noted Plummer was not listed among threat targets. The shooting occurred as President Ford and family stayed in the White House.

Playful gunplay ends in fatal shooting in Baltimore

Nine year old Marie Barcroft recounts a Sunday tragedy in South Baltimore where a 3-year-old, visiting with his 5-year-old brother, took a .357 pistol from a kitchen table and fatally shot 7-year-old Jeffrey Krausch at point blank range. Marie described the incident as the "awfulest" thing she ever saw while the shooter fled with his brother. Police said no charges would be filed against the gun owner. Weekend accidents snuff out 5 lives

The AP reports five fatalities from weekend crashes across Minnesota and nearby areas. Miguel Gamon, 22, died when his car overturned near Kragnes. Donald C. Christenson, 74, of Menasha, died in a two car crash near Litchfield. his wife Dorothy 67 hospitalized. A Meeker County crash killed one driver. Margaret Miklovich 45 injured. Other incidents include a motorcycle fatality in Dickinson County Iowa and a Mahtomedi motorcycle crash injuring Rhonda Berends 22.

Amin disappears as firing erupts near Kampala

Ugandan President Idi Amin fled his Kampala headquarters after troops opened fire on Saturday night. The Standard reports Amin withdrew into darkness as shooting began.
