Girl testifies in juvenile court over father abuse

One year-old Shirley Voeller testified in a Royalton Minnesota juvenile court that she killed her father Julius Voeller after he mistreated her and the children. She described tying him to a chair and blindfolding him as part of a game before striking him with a public safety item on July 9. The case was continued for disposition next week. Shirley and her sisters Jan 11 Mary 10 will stay at a St. Cloud orphanage. The family had moved from Huron South Dakota a year earlier and had a history of separations and a divorce a decade ago. Shirley’s attorney presented a leather strap the mother claimed was used to beat them.
