Nuclear blast lights Hawaii as US claims third try success

A high altitude nuclear test over Johnston Island using a Thor missile produced the strongest explosion of the series, lighting the Hawaiian Islands and disrupting communications. Arrest Pair at Gun Point in Brownsdale Burglary

An Austin man Richard G. Penkava 21 and his girlfriend Shirlee A. Owens 19 were arrested near Brownsdale by Sheriff Reinartz and agent Michael McGinnis after a burglary at Brownsdale Recreation Room on July 1. Four Die in Minnesota Highway Crashes Over Weekend

The Associated Press reports four deaths in Minnesota traffic incidents over the weekend and today. One fatality involved Rosemary Stang of St. Cloud from July 4 injuries. Two other deaths occurred in a head on collision near Albany. The 1962 toll reached 288, compared with 327 last year at this date.

Four Reach Safe After Unreported Plane Incident
