Energy agency mulls further fuel cuts in Minnesota

Minnesota Energy Agency director John Millhone said he may urge the State Executive Council to approve additional conservation steps after a daily assessment of heating fuel inventories and the impact of measures like releasing fuel oil stocks held by taconite companies and the University of Minnesota. Carter proposes $50 tax rebates and jobs program

President Carter sent Congress a $31.2 billion two year plan blending tax rebates and job creation. Red Cross Bloodmobile visits Austin for donations

The traveling Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the First Congregational Church in Austin today through Friday February 4. Hours are 1 to 7 p.m. today through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Donating blood is a simple quick procedure and saves lives. Eligible donors are healthy and between 17 and 66. Weather: clear to partly cloudy through Tuesday with tonight’s lows 5 to 10 below and Tuesday high 16 to 22 miles per hour wind from the west.
