Two Killed in Hancock Auto Mishap Near Appleton
Minnesota’s traffic toll rose to 51 as two men died when a car was struck by a Great Northern train near Hancock. Ray Melchert 40 operator of a grocery and Chris Milze 51 neighbor perished. Marvin Wente 30 escaped unharmed as the car slid down an icy incline. The victims were on a fox hunting trip. A third Minnesotan Frank Eckert 79 died in Dublin Georgia when the car he rode in overturned. The Krzmaryczk couple and their son Rev Leo were hospitalized after the crash during an 18 day vacation.
