Brown of the Ohio Republican state central committee replies to Senator Foraker and others criticizing the call for primaries to select delegates to the state convention He defends limiting names on delegate tickets and argues for a fair direct primary plan showing Foraker and Taft delegate lists side by side for elector choice He says his aim is to uphold fairness to all candidates and harmony among Ohio Republicans.
At Leavenworth Kansas seven of nine men drowned when a skiff capsized while crossing the river. The dead include Frank Will and Charles Baker with families, Join Baker Elmer Hundley Grover Hundley and an unknown Swede. Most were Kickapoo residents employed by Kansas Natural Gas. The accident occurred as they crossed to the Kansas side. bodies not recovered.

In Steubenville the crash at Crate Crossing left George Keuhns and his five year old son dead and his wife fatally injured. Authorities reported the family from Lanjiamrg area were involved when their vehicle collided with a freight crossing facility. The victims were identified as Mr Keuhns and his son, with the wife hospitalized in critical condition.
