Insurgents receive 11th hour GOP leadership offer

Washington AP reports Republican House leaders offered a compromise to insurgent Republicans to share leadership in the chamber. A new assistant floor leader post would be created and the full House would elect the Policy Committee chair. If defeated Halleck could become GOP floor leader with Martin's long tenure ending after 34 years.

Freeway Through City Now Designated TH 90 on Map

Minnesota Highway Dept. announces a new statewide numbering plan making the local Austin freeway TH 90. The route connects LaCrescent to Sioux Falls with belt loops around Austin and through Albert Lea and Fairmont, while other segments become TH 35 TH 94 and TH 190 as signs are updated statewide.
