Anarchist kills attempted Shippy attack in Chicago home
Chief of Police George M. Shippy's residence is the scene of a deadly confrontation with an anarchist who wounded Shippy's son Harry and driver James Foley before Shippy killed the assailant. The slain man was Lazarus Averbuch, a 22 year old Russian student living with his sister Olga at 218 Washburn Ave. The event sparks raids on alleged anarchist centers and a Cook County grand jury probe into anarchistic groups.
