State Senator Harold R. Popp and his wife Winifred were killed when their car collided with a pickup on Highway 7, 18 miles east of Hutchinson Minnesota. The driver of the truck, John B. Popp, 65, a pharmacist and longtime public servant, chaired the Senate Elections Committee and led welfare studies. he represented House District 15 including McLeod Nicollet and Sibley counties and had a daughter Susan.
