Paris on February 19 reports riotous crowds after the assizes court adjournment. M Zola narrowly escaped lynching as mobs insulted Jewish residents and shouted death to the Jews. Republican guards charged the rioters and restored order in the square.
A Spanish miner boasting of Spain beating the United States was killed by a pick in a crowd of miners near Gienroy Ohio. The victim's citizenship status is unknown.
Sarina Kan Feb 19 The government view on the Middle division of the Kansas Pacific railroad in Kansas was sold in the morning in this city. The road was bought by Alvin W Krech and Winslow B Pierce representing the reorganization committee for 5 800 000.
Ottawa reports the Dominion government will not issue tree miners certificates at Lake Tagish and American ports. Miners must obtain certificates in Vancouver or Victoria.
Havana report lists 180 bodies recovered and laid in coffins for transport to Colon cemetery. Chaplain Chadwick of the Maine conducted funeral services as the Mangrove sailed to Key West with eight wounded from the military hospital.
In Frankfort Kentucky on February 19 political excitement rises as about half the Democratic members of the general assembly refuse to attend a caucus on the Goebel election force bill. The measure has passed the senate and dissenters say it would compel house Democrats to vote for it.

In Stroina Sicily three hundred villagers demonstrated demanding succor. They refused to disperse and clashed with soldiers who fired returning fire killing two peasants and wounding four.
